I think it is not true and unfair to consider all the youngsters who were born after 1981 as the strawberry generations. Of course it is true that there are people who are low in compressive strength and easy to get frustrated, but that can not cover all the young generations. There are youngsters who work hard to make an improvement and who have been very successful in their professional fields.
As far as I know, there are several things that can show we young generations are really working hard and making improvement. First, in recent years, students in high schools have performed better and won more prizes in several academic fields than before, as we can see on the TV reports and newspapers that students won several invention awards or other contests. The research they were doing or the process they went through to complete the tasks were not easy to succeed. But they have still done good jobs. That means students in young generations are not as commonly said to be easily defeated by difficulties. Second, the ministry of education has set up many activities to cultivate new age leaders. Students joining these activities learn to be more independent, creative, and considerate. They listen to lectures, play games, do presentations, and reflect on what they have learned during the activities. Therefore, they cultivate the abilities to think independently, have critical mind and know how to express their thoughts clearly and constructive, which means the young generations are not bookworms; instead, they combine their studies with different activities and therefore, what they learn, they are resolved to practice. Also, teamwork is one of the most important factors in the many activities. This shows that the young generations are not care only for themselves but actually, they learn how to build good interpersonal relationships and to be tolerate and considerate.
To be brief, the young generations do not really deserve to the stigma.
It’s much more inspiring for me to read this paragraph and I agree with this author. As one of the “strawberry generation”, I don’t think we are that fragile. First of all, people in this generation have a lot more creativity. There are many cases shown in the newspaper and magazines about how this young generation reaches their success and goals. For students in college or senior high, many of us take part in several various activities or contests to show what we’ve learned, our talents and our hard working. Besides, many of us try to do something meaningful and beneficial to the society and the world in our ways such as inventing some environmental-friendly things or being volunteers. For those who step into society, there are still many examples of being entrepreneur,-establish their own business.

It’s not like what people view us that we are too young to face the reality and too fragile to take the failure. Instead, it’s the youth making us be brave to make mistakes, to try, to fail and then make improvement from it.
I have to admit that people in our generation may care more about ourselves because of the lower birth rate which makes every child in the family be cherished and be protected more. Different from generation before us, we can think more about ourselves and we live for ourselves rather than always being the one who sacrifice or lose dreams. In the meanwhile, we do lots of teamwork and we do know the importance of it; therefore, I think we just try to strike a balance between being ourselves and being a part of a team.
I agree with you, Heidi, it’s not fair to just cover the whole young generation as the strawberry generation. Moreover, I also agree with what the author mentioned, she said that “the strawberry generation” always exists in every generation. We grow up with better resources while we have more difficulties to conquer in the future. I believe that each generation has its feature, merit and weakness. In our generation, we are more creative and confident, we try to make good use of what we have, improve our shortcomings, adjust ourselves and hope we make progress.
I can't agree you more! I think the traditional society bears the poor living condition with great fortitude. They are people who are persistent. Their hard work and dedication are beyond description. However, in our generation, it is totally the different situation, a different system. So people can not judge us without taking the circumstances into consideration. In fact, we young generation surpass predecessors in creativity and flexibility. And our braving enough to make a break through shows we are not generation who can not undergo failure.
